What is direct to object printing?
Direct to Object (DTO) printing is a method of printing images, designs, or text directly onto the surface of a 3D object, without the need for intermediate steps like printing on a label or transferring the design. This process typically uses specialized digital inkjet printers and pad printers that can print on various materials such as plastic, metal, wood, glass, or even fabric.
Key features of DTO printing include:
- Versatility: It can print on a wide range of objects, from helmets and water bottles to golf balls and phone cases.
- Durability: The inks used in DTO printing are often UV-cured, making the print resistant to wear, water, and fading.
- Customization: DTO printing allows for detailed, full-color designs and personalization on small and large objects alike.
This method is widely used in industries like promotional products, industrial manufacturing, and retail for creating branded merchandise and custom items.
